Invision’s founder and managing director, Steve Beahan, has today announced that he will be retiring after more than 17 years at the helm of the UK’s leading residential technology distributor.
“Having founded the company back in 2002, it’s been an amazing journey - it’s now the right time to pass the baton onto the next generation,” said Steve Beahan, who turned 60 last year. He added: “We are in great shape, and as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Midwich Group plc, we are well placed to continue our growth and success in this dynamic and rapidly expanding market.’’
Initially focused on residential AV, Invision’s portfolio of brands has evolved in recent years, through the development of a number of key strategic partnerships, and now includes control systems, home cinema, networking and security, providing a convenient one-stop source for professional custom installers.
Steve continued, “I would like to thank our customers and vendor partners for their outstanding support over the years. But most of all, I am proud of the achievements of my colleagues at Invision. I have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to work with a fantastic team, who've helped grow the business into what we have today. I know that they will ensure the continued success of the company in the future.”
He added: “To ensure a smooth transition of the business and continuity of leadership, during the second half of this year I will be handing over the reins to my successor, Mark Taylor, who is currently commercial director. Mark has a deep understanding and experience of our business, the industry, and the markets in which we operate”.
Mark Taylor commented, “I am sure I speak for all at Invision when I wish Steve a long, happy and healthy retirement. He will be a tough act to follow! We have some very exciting plans in store and I'm really looking forward to tackling the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead”
