Working with the teams at Pulse Cinemas and Invision UK, Tim is excited to get stuck into some standout projects in the AV and home cinema space. He is looking forward to working closely with all the fantastic partner brands and dealers in the Pulse Cinemas and Invision UK universe.
Tim will be covering the North of England (from Birmingham up to the Scottish border), so if you're in that area and want to catch up over a coffee, give him a shout. Meanwhile, let’s find out a little more about Tim and what his new role will involve.
"So, I’ll be the point of contact for all our dealers and partners in the North of England. I’ll be covering from Birmingham right up to the Scottish border. I’m here to help with product training, make sure our partners are up to date with the latest solutions from our portfolio of partnered brands, and assist with system specifications and project planning".
"Pulse Cinemas has an excellent reputation within the AV industry for delivering some of the most impressive projects in the UK. Their portfolio of premium products is incredibly enticing, and I’m excited to be part of delivering these solutions, which operate on the cutting edge of performance".
"I’ve worked in the AV industry for the past six years in various roles. I’ve been on both the retail side, dealing directly with end clients and the trade distribution (B2B) side, working alongside dealers and installation companies to complete projects. I understand the nuances of both perspectives and feel well-placed to help our dealers win more business and ensure customers feel confident in the project proposals we’re part of creating".
"As an avid music fan, it really comes down to the audio quality of these systems. I get excited when I see a finished project in action and really hear the quality of the audio we’ve all contributed to—through design, specification and ultimately, high-level execution. Nothing beats cranking the volume and getting immersed in the music".
"It certainly is a big area to cover, but as I’m based in Leeds, I’m typically no more than two or three hours away from anyone, as Leeds sits almost perfectly in the centre of it all! I’ve already built some great relationships with dealers in the North, and I’m most looking forward to building on that and being someone people know they can rely on in the industry".
"I was fortunate enough to attend the CEDIA Awards last year as a guest of Monitor Audio, and one project that truly stood out was the Joy Division Room by M.E.G.A AV Installations in London. It took home multiple awards that evening—and deservedly so. The moment I saw it, I felt it captured everything I admire about this industry: thoughtful design, outstanding performance and seamless functionality. It’s a brilliant piece of work that manages to be both innovative and understated, which only adds to its impact. I’d love the opportunity to be part of a project like that in the future!".
"As a huge fan of the original Bladerunner, I like to use Bladerunner 2049 to showcase picture quality on projectors and TVs—particularly the scenes in the desert where Deckard appears again for the first time. That bit always gives me goosebumps. The opening scene is also a great example of dialogue depth and quality… “Do you feel like there is a part of you that’s missing? Interlinked.” It really shows the customer WHY they need that centre channel!".
"Nowadays, I listen to a lot of indie-folk—it’s great for driving around as the songs are comforting and intimate on solo drives! Some of these albums are perfect for showing off dynamic range in audio systems. On constant rotation for me are:
But my go-to test tracks for demos are:
"I got myself a standing desk recently. Absolute game changer!".
"Either walking my dog or making music".
