CYP and Invision Synchronicity

Marc Waple, Managing Director of CYP, explains the advantages of the recent distribution deal with Invision UK and what CYP can offer dealers now and in the future.

Tell us about the new distribution set up with Invision

The setup with Invision is the result of a long-standing professional relationship and mutual respect. Having personally collaborated with Invision for over a decade, I have witnessed first-hand their exceptional capabilities within the AV channel. Their deep industry knowledge, coupled with a robust market presence, makes them an ideal partner.

This partnership was forged with a clear vision: to amplify our ability to bring innovative products to market and expand our reach to new customers across the UK and Ireland. By aligning with Invision, CYP are tapping into their extensive market reach, professional sales expertise, and dedicated support infrastructure. This will significantly enhance our presence in the residential custom installation and home theatre installation sectors.

With Invision’s support, we are poised to not only introduce cutting-edge products but also to ensure these solutions are backed by the exceptional service and support that both our brands are known for.

What are the main synergies between the two companies?

The key synergies lie in our shared vision and commitment to delivering top-tier technology solutions. Invision's deep market presence and expertise perfectly complements CYP Europe's decades of experience in manufacturing and product design. By combining our strengths, we can accelerate innovation, expand our customer base and enhance our ability to launch cutting-edge products.

What are the main advantages that will impact CYP customers?

First, they will benefit from access to a larger, more diverse team of experts who are ready to assist with all aspects of CYP products, including specifications and project quotations. Invision now has over 20 dedicated sales, support, and business management professionals available across the UK and Ireland, ensuring consistent, knowledgeable support for our customers.

Second, our core product portfolio is fully stocked and ready for immediate delivery throughout the UK and Ireland. This improvement in our supply chain enables us to respond more quickly to customer needs, providing faster and more reliable service. Overall, these enhancements translate to greater efficiency, better responsiveness, and a stronger partnership with our customers.

What are CYP’s brand’s main strengths and deliverables for installers and end users?

CYP Europe has been at the forefront of designing and manufacturing advanced residential and commercial AV solutions for over 35 years. This has allowed us to develop a product range that includes everything from matrix products and accessories to switches, scalers, and state-of-the-art video-over-IP solutions, with integrated Dante audio options.

What distinguishes CYP is our relentless dedication to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. Every product is meticulously designed in-house and produced in our own factory. This ensures the highest standards of performance, quality and reliability. For installers and end users alike, this translates to optimised signal paths between sources and displays across diverse AV platforms, backed by the trust and expertise that only decades of innovation can provide.

What future developments can we expect from CYP?

With a global team of over 350 dedicated professionals, we are constantly developing new products and solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Without giving too much away right now, I can share one of the many projects in the works is our all new cutting-edge AVoIP solution. This new offering will provide greater flexibility at a more accessible price point, specifically designed for commercial and residential integration projects with high levels of complexity that demand the best quality but have more constrained budget.

We’re excited to showcase this and many other innovations at the EI Live show in September, with additional unveilings planned at events throughout the year. And we are gearing up for many product launches in Barcelona next year at ISE, where we’ll be introducing a host of new solutions to the market. Stay tuned—there’s a lot to look forward to!

How is the install/smart building industry doing currently? what are the main areas of opportunity moving forward?

The industry is navigating a complex landscape shaped by both political and economic challenges. Ongoing economic uncertainties, such as inflationary pressures and fluctuating interest rates, coupled with political developments, have created a cautious market environment, especially in the UK. However, despite these challenges, the industry remains resilient and continues to evolve.

One of the key areas of opportunity lies in the growing demand for energy-efficient and sustainable solutions. As businesses and homeowners prioritise sustainability, the industry is uniquely positioned to lead this shift. Advanced automation, energy management, and integrated systems are becoming essential components of new projects, offering significant growth potential.

We recognise that the products we create have an impact on both the environment and our clients' budgets. That's why it's crucial for us to design and produce solutions that are more energy-efficient, use fewer resources and contribute to reducing carbon footprints. Our goal is to develop products and associated packaging that not only meet the needs of our customers but also support a pathway toward carbon neutrality.

Partnerships like our collaboration with Invision enhance our ability to adapt and thrive in this changing landscape. By leveraging combined expertise and market reach, we can deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers, even in the face of economic headwinds. The future of the smart building industry is bright, and by focusing on strategic partnerships and emerging technologies, we are well-positioned to capitalise on the opportunities ahead.
